Other types of medical negligence
Not every concern about healthcare fits into a familiar category. If you or a family member experienced avoidable harm during NHS or private treatment in England or Wales, Medical Negligence Consultants can provide a free, confidential initial assessment.
Examples of concerns we can consider include delayed recognition or treatment of sepsis, cauda equina syndrome, missed strokes or fractures, and hospital-acquired infections. These examples do not mean that a poor outcome automatically establishes medical negligence.

How we can help
We are a claims management company regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Where an enquiry is suitable, we refer it to a specialist medical negligence solicitor from our panel. The solicitor provides legal advice, investigates the evidence and manages any claim. We do not charge for our initial assessment or referral; the solicitor will explain any legal fees before you decide whether to proceed.
Other types of medical negligence we can assess
- Delayed or missed cancer diagnosis
- Radiology or pathology errors
- Pressure sores, nursing care and avoidable hospital falls
- Mental health care failures
- Ambulance or emergency response delays
- Blood clots following surgery or hospital care
- Physiotherapy, chiropractic or osteopathy injuries
- Delayed diagnosis in children
- Failures of consent, discharge, referral or follow-up
We can also assess missed fractures, surgical negligence and birth injuries.
What a claim must prove
A claim normally requires evidence that care fell below a reasonable professional standard and that the failing caused avoidable harm. Independent expert evidence is often needed.
Compensation and time limits
Successful claims may cover pain, suffering, lost earnings, treatment, therapy and care. The usual limitation period in England and Wales is three years from negligent care or the relevant date of knowledge, with different rules for children and people lacking mental capacity. No result or amount can be guaranteed.
Other medical negligence FAQs
I am not sure whether what happened is negligence. Should I still call?
Yes. The assessment is free, and we will tell you whether a claim looks possible.
Can I claim if I did not see a doctor but another health professional?
Possibly. Nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, radiographers and other professionals owe a duty of care. A claim depends on the standard of care and harm caused.
Can I claim for care that happened a long time ago?
Possibly. The usual limit is three years from negligent care or the relevant date of knowledge, with exceptions. Seek advice early.
Can I claim for a family member who died?
Often, yes. A family member may be able to claim after a death. A solicitor will advise who can bring the claim.
Are you a law firm?
No. We are a claims management company, FCA regulated (FRN 836324). We refer suitable enquiries to a solicitor on our panel.
How do you choose which solicitor handles my claim?
We match your enquiry to the panel solicitor best suited to your type of claim.
Is the assessment free?
Yes. If we refer you to a solicitor, they explain funding options, including any No Win No Fee arrangement, before you decide.
